It’s been completely manic since we arrived back on 2nd January! As most people know all the men go to a bowling night each year. The lady’s do something a little different and this year we choose the Lateef restaurant in Sittingbourne. Usually our girls day/night out actually happens in March/April but this year we were organised and managed to get it in before Christmas, in fact on the 18th December!!

It was a themed soul night and although some of us had doubts on what it would be like, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

We bumped into a celebrity chief who was having a meal there and another company had a works do in there, that may have had a little too much to drink and were doing hand stands on the stage!!

We would definitely return, not only was it a brilliant atmosphere, the food was lovely and it was a good night in general.Waller Associates Girls Night Out

I could write more about our eventful evening but seeing as I have lots of work to do I best stop now.  I don’t think my boss would appreciate me advertising for the Lateef, I should be concentrating on subjects such as:-

  • Horticultural Glass/ Greenhouse
  • Laminated glass
  • Fire glass

You get my point!

We can’t wait for 2015!!

A question that’s commonly asked is how long does putty take to dry.

Believe it or not it actually takes between 8-12 weeks before its dry enough to be decorated. Some people don’t leave it this long but we recommend you do.

One of the reasons putty has been used by glaziers for so long is that if painted it never really goes hard and dries out completely.

Putty is used as a sealant more than a fixative, and after it has been painted will remain reasonably flexible and a good sealant for years to come, not hard not soft.

If you see a derelict house where the paint has dried and peeled off, you will usually see the putty has dried out completely too, it has cracked and fallen away, all the natural linseed oil which keeps it as a good sealant has dried out.

If you have any putty queries or would like to buy some putty please do not hesitate to contact us.

When companies like us, Waller Associates do a marketing campaign we promise certain different services that encourage new customers to come to us and existing customers to stay with us.

You can promise a customer the world, but the important thing to do is to see your promise/service through.

For example, on one of our flyers it says we can guarantee supply only stock glass cut to size next day. It is vital that if we have said we can do it with a next day delivery that we pull out all the stops and deliver it.

If we don’t deliver the consequences are that we get a bad reputation, that the customer does not return again and most importantly that that customer will not pay.

Another aspect that we try to think about when promising a service via marketing is workload and the workmen.

Does your work force know what is expected from them, when they get an order of works do they know it needs to be cut and out by the end of the day?

Talking and discussing workload with your work men is also important.

Maybe even discussing with them before the promotion goes out, for example letting them know what you propose to do and asking them if they have the right equipment, stock and staff.

We ensure we do all of the above and continue to please our customer with our reliable service
