About Waller Building Services
Since forming in 1993, Waller Building Services has developed a core client base consisting of housing associations, local authorities, schools and large corporations to whom we have provided a variety of construction services.
Having established excellent working relationships with these clients, we have been able to grow into a successful medium sized company with an annual turnover of over £2.5m We are registered with Constructionline, a government lead database, which enables all prospective clients to find out more information about us and to see if we are suitable for their construction needs.
A list of our accreditations are shown below. The range of contracts we carry out varies from disabled alterations to domestic properties right through to new build projects and housing developments. Examples of our work can be found on our case studies pages.
As we have expanded into the new-build sector of the industry we have become affiliated with the NHBC (National House-Building Council) who provide assistance with the new-build projects we undertake as well as a ten-year guarantee for the properties.
We have a varied workforce consisting of tradesmen, labourers, trainees and management staff who have the necessary skills and experience required to carry out our contracts to a high standard. In order to maintain and improve the skills of our employees, we achieved the status of “Investors in People (IIP) in 2001 and we were reaccredited in 2014. By doing so, we have been able to organise ourselves in such a way that the training and development of staff is one of our foremost priorities.
By dovetailing IIP with our Quality Assurance EN ISO 900a:2008 Policy, we have been able to implement policies and procedures which give us the tools to ensure that our quality of work is monitored and controlled via our system of pre-handover snagging proformas and practical completion certificates.
This system also enables us to identify areas of the workforce that may need further training and development and also assists us with one of our main objectives which is to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. We are also registered with the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) who provide us with the grant funding for any development needs we may have including areas such as first aid and health and safety.
Working in the construction industry means that health and safety is of paramount importance. We are Chas registered, which is a government headed health and safety assessment scheme that assures we either meet or exceed our clients’ health and safety requirements. The company is dedicated to maintaining equal opportunities for all and this is upheld by our Equal Opportunities Policy which is on display at our head office.
This policy highlights we appreciate how diverse the modern workplace and the people who work within it have become. By implementing the policy, we ensure that we have the opportunity to employ anyone who will be of benefit to the company from whatever background they may come.
The environment, and the affects the construction industry has on it, is one of the major issues to concern the modern construction industry. This is reflected in our Environmental Policy which demonstrates the company’s commitment in establishing a “sustainable community”.
The policy also outlines the procedures we have in place that enables us to reduce the potential harm our work may have on the surrounding area as well as the environment as a whole.
Having achieved our present day success we believe that we are a vibrant, flexible company that is able to suit a variety of needs our clients require.
The company also still fulfils our clients’ expectations of us in terms of the time it takes to carry out works whilst providing both quality and value for money.
