Robotic Room

Canterbury College wanted to create an area to teach students the use of robotic technology.  The new robot room was required to house similar machines that are used by the car and other manufacturing industries. The main aim is to provide students with the experience of using modern technology including 3D printing.

The college didn’t have a large enough, ready-made area to utilise for the new robot room. However, they had identified a part of the campus that could be used. The area consisted of two offices and a classroom which, when reconfigurated, would supply enough space for the new manufacturing course.

The Works

The works included the removal of dividing walls to create one large space. We created additional large internal screens to promote viewing accessibility along with external television screens so that the works can be visualized from outside of the robot room. The new room was transformed and decorated throughout. Additionally, suspended ceilings, new flooring, upgrading of the heating system and LED lighting was also carried out. New power and data cables were also installed to power the new equipment as well as provide future proofing for any addition developments that college may have at a later date.

Part of the works included relocating the offices used for this project. The new offices were decorated and updated throughout to create a pleasant working environment.
