Successful Tender Bid

Successful Tender Bid

Successful Tender Bid

A very proud moment, a successful tender bid in a very competitive market. We have won the contract to upgrade the glazing at Swale House council office in Sittingbourne.

I joined the amazing Waller team at the start of January this year. I was a bit wobbly from a traumatic exit from the business I had poured half of my life into, but was given the job during January of putting together the tender for Swale House. This was something I really needed in order to get some confidence back after some testing times at a plc machine.

These kind of bids are also something I’m quite good at, made all the easier by the great reputation this company has. It was an open tender where anyone could bid for it across the UK and was for the thermal improvement of the council offices split into 3 lots. Lot 1 was roof renewal, Lot 2 windows and external doors, and Lot 3 car park soffit insulated render.

The Winning Bid

The tender process involved 60+ clarifications and our managing director, glazing manager and I put together a comprehensive bid with a compelling case for our selection. We scored highest on our quality section and were competitive on the financial section, and were awarded in early April, Lots 2 and 3. Companies across the UK, some £100m+ in size, submitted bids, but we came out on top!

I wrote in our bid about how proud we would be to complete this prestigious project in the heart of the community in which we operate.

The Hard Work Starts Now

Today, for me, this vision becomes a reality as our name sits loud and proud on a huge scaffold in the centre of town.

We’re here for the next 16 weeks, and I’m sure there will a few challenges along the way, but we will leave Swale House looking swanky and modernised, and put ourselves on the map for projects of this size and nature moving forward.

Thanks for reading my blog! Just proud enough to burst and shower everyone in glitter.

Chris
