Creating Modern, Hygienic Washroom Facilities for Early Years Education

The Kemnal Academies Trust appointed us to refurbish two washroom areas at Royal Park Academy in Sidcup, Kent, creating a fresh, modern and practical environment for its youngest pupils.

As the existing facilities had reached the end of their serviceable life, the academy needed a comprehensive refurbishment to improve the appearance, hygiene and functionality of the washrooms. With nursery-aged children between three and five years old using these facilities, we focused on creating clean, bright and durable spaces that could meet the everyday demands of a busy educational setting.

A Complete Washroom Transformation

The project involved the full refurbishment of two washroom areas, one of which also included an adjoining changing facility. We upgraded both spaces with modern, high-quality finishes and fittings to create a consistent, refreshed appearance throughout.

First, we removed the existing toilets, cubicles and trough sinks and replaced them with contemporary alternatives, giving the washrooms a brighter, more modern look for pupils and staff. We also installed new flooring throughout and added hygienic wall cladding, providing easy-to-clean surfaces that support effective day-to-day maintenance.

Finally, we installed new lighting to complete the transformation, enhancing the overall appearance of both spaces and helping to create a clean, welcoming environment for the academy’s youngest children.
