My Role as Contract Administration Support
Welcome to my first blog about my role as contract administration support. I joined Waller World back in June 2022 and a common question after commenting on that I’m never here, is what do you actually do. So here is a little bit about me….
What I do at Waller World
My main role is supporting the Operations Director as well as the Glazing Manager and Contracts Managers, when required. I assist with both quotes and tenders and I’m involved from the beginning of the quoting process through to their submission. My duties begin at the start of the quoting process, setting up new enquiries on our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and ensuring that all tender documentation, drawings and photos are on our internal server and are accessible to everyone who needs it. Once the price is finalised the quotation or proposal is written up depending on the type of work. Our proposal templates have expanded since I’ve been here with additional types of proposals being used depending on the type of work required. This provides the client a more personalized and informative quotation.
Tender Submissions
As well as quotes going directly to schools, educational trusts and commercial clients, we also submit tenders. A tender is a project that has to be submitted by a certain time, usually to a consultant. These type of projects are often scored on price as well as additional information such as our health & safety procedures and previous experience. For these projects, I work alongside the Managing Director to make sure we submit all the information required.
Administration
In addition, I am also involved in general administration tasks including setting up project sheets for won projects, updating the CRM software, amendments to templates as and when required and collating the data for the Operations Director’s management reports.
I’ve really enjoyed my time at Wallers so far. After spending my previous employment working at home during Covid, I’m enjoying the buzz of working in an office, both from a work perspective and socially although I have to admit it’s lovely and quiet in the school holidays when the contracts managers are all out on site!
Hectic Mum
As a working mum, I’m often seen rushing out of the door just after three for the school run (please note I have only been late once!!) It is a hectic balance, juggling work and home life, working until three and then being Mum Taxi for afterschool clubs, swimming lessons scouts and other activities.
Commercial Building Services We Provide
The building services we provide include smaller refurbishments through to extensions and new builds. The services we provide include anything that a commercial premises would require. This includes, toilet and kitchen refurbishments. We also install fencing, flooring and carry out complete new builds.
