Waller Associates’ Going Green
A new electric vehicle has joined our fleet in an attempt at making Waller Associates’ going green a reality.
We finally bit the bullet and purchased one and, if you’ve read my earlier posts you will know that, I had serious reservations about going down the EV route for the following reasons:
- Range
- Price
- Quality
Now, it’s a Renault Zoe so I wouldn’t say it 100% hits the quality mark but it certainly is a lot better than the Renault Kangoo we trialled. Regarding value for money, they are still way over priced in my opinion but we managed to obtain a SEBB grant for it which knocked 30% off so it brought it more in line with the equivalent diesel models. However the biggest plus point is the range; the book states the Zoe will do around 250 miles and on initial runs this is not far off. We actually got over 200 miles on one charge which included a fair amount of motorway driving at a steady 70 mph (which eats the battery!)
We are proud to being doing whatever we can to protect the environment and help the planet in the future. Additionally, we hope that this will be a worthwhile investment. And seeing what has happened in the past week, with the petrol crisis, we couldn’t have picked a better time to get one!
