School Toilet Refurbishment Benefits

School Toilet Refurbishment Benefits

We have just finished projects from our busiest period of the year, the school summer holidays. A large number of the works that we carried out were toilet refurbishments. We are being asked to quote for toilet refurbishments on a regular basis. This got me thinking on how school toilet refurbishment benefits schools in a number of ways.

The Benefits

  • Inexpensive Transformation
  • Colourful, Bright Options
  • Long Lasting, Hard Wearing Materials
  • Energy Saving
  • Pupils Look After the Newer Environments

Affordable and Essential Projects

Over the years schools have had to learn to spend their money wisely. It is important to ensure value for money when allocating tight budgets. An area that schools like to improve on are the pupil’s toilets. There are a number of reasons why refurbishing school toilets blocks makes sense. Firstly, a toilet block can have a complete make over without spending a huge amount of money. A greater range of modern, vibrant colours can give a toilet block a new lease of life. This can make a more comforting area for young children rather than the dank, dark toilets of the past.

Hard Wearing – Long Lasting Materials

All of the materials that Waller’s install are much harder wearing than before. From the cubicle systems to the flooring and sanitary ware we use the best products available. This may be slightly more expensive initially but proves to be much more cost effective in the short and long term. Inferior products can look great initially but can deteriorate very quickly. This means that the materials we use look new after extended use. This also makes maintenance and cleaning easier than before.

Suspended Ceiling and LED Lighting

As part of a full toilet refurbishment we will also add or renew a suspended ceiling. This gives the toilets a more modern feel and can also make heating more efficient which reduces energy bills. We also promote the installation of new, more energy efficient, LED lighting which give the finishing touch to a new refurbishment. The brighter lighting has a large impact on areas that are normally dark and can be intimidating of younger children.

Head teachers and caretakers have commented that after the schools toilets have been refurbished, pupils look after the newer environments with more care and consideration.
