My First Waller Services Anniversary
I started working at Waller Associates in September 2021 and have just had my first Waller Services anniversary. What a year it has been!
I can’t actually believe I’ve been working here for a year now, and the amount of amazing things that I’ve experienced.
Working at Wallers was a huge change to the previous position I held. Firstly, I was coming into the building trade, a million miles away from my previous job in education. Secondly, I was going to be working with my husband!
A Great Place to Work
Over my year at Wallers I’ve experienced some amazing events and made some wonderful memories, which I will cherish for ever, I work with amazing colleagues and bosses too.
One of the most enjoyable periods is Christmas time at Wallers. It is made to feel magical, a time where we all get together, kick off our heels and enjoy being in each other’s company, while enjoying good food, entertainment and, of course, a few drinks.
New Skills Learnt
I have learnt many new skills since starting at Wallers including Excel formulas, invoicing and ordering materials. I am also liaising with clients and our workforce to ensure that appointments are booked and works are carried out at convenient times. Additionally I have been improving my tea making skills! I’ve learnt a lot, and still am!
Outside of Works Has Been Hectic Too!
As well as working for a new company, my daughter got married. This was one of the most perfect and memorable times of my life! Being mother of the bride and sharing moments never to be had again together will always be in my heart.
1/2 Marathon
My latest event/achievement was completing the Beachy Head ½ Marathon on October 2nd. For anyone who’s completed this marathon, I applaud you. For anyone who’s thinking about entering…be prepared!
I took on this challenge with my friend Wendy…but what was I thinking!?! This is one of the toughest marathons/half marathons to do. What didn’t help on the day was the biblical weather we had – Rain, Wind, Thunder and Lightning. But…I absolutely loved it!!!! I was buzzing as we went round and went over the finish line together in glorious sunshine.
Our Queen
We all celebrated the Queens Platinum Jubilee together and Wallers with a garden party. Then sadly later in the year, we all mourned her death. It was a sad time when the whole country mourned the death of a figure that so many have always know in their life. She was an exceptionally strong woman who did many great things. As well as running the Commonwealth she lead her family too.
What a year, and yes my husband and I are still together!!!!
