Everyone Loves Their Dogs
I think I can say that most of us love our dogs at Wallers. Maybe there’s the odd exception, but then I don’t like snakes at all. So I suppose that I can’t judge people for their personal likes or dislikes! But surely everyone loves their dogs, don’t they?
The Wallers and Their Dogs
The Waller family go back a long way with their dogs, from mongrels to full pedigrees. However, I fall into the mongrel to overpriced mongrel category but we loved them all.
Brandy and Ben
Jan and Bill’s first dog was a lovely mongrel called Brandy who could open doors and managed to escape from a kennels and found refuge in a wood. Only to be found by the very young Waller boys when they made camp in the wood weeks later. Brandy lived to a grand age however, and was then replaced by poor Ben. I say Poor Ben, a black labrador because he jumped out of the top window in Jan and Bill’s house and sadly had to be put to sleep.
A young Andy was given a puppy, but again very sad as the Sheppey Way was at that time a very busy road and he was run over! Bless him.
Max
We move on to Max a beautiful Golden Retriever, a gift to Jan. At the same time I had Abbey (a mongrel who looked something like an Irish Wolfhound come lurcher). The two of them enjoyed quite a few holidays together. One was on a working farm and Max was excellent at rounding up the sheep! With Jan always calling out his name everyone knew who MAX was on a walk.
Tess
Steve and Maria had a little terrier called Tess (brought back from Leicester) again she lived to a wonderful age and died from a stroke. The fact that I had looked after her for the weekend before her demise, I would add had no bearing on this, but you may hear otherwise.
Murphy
Andy and Lesley then had beautiful Murphy, a brown lab who appeared in leaflets advertising the newly formed Glass Division. Murphy lived to a great age and was loved by us all.
As you know, I have been known to go on a bit so they’ve made me have two parts to my doggy blog.
If you like part one of my blog, please be sure to look out for part two which is coming soon!
