Charity Fund Raiser

On Saturday 18th October 2025, we hosted our very first charity fund raiser, a quiz night in support of the Motor Neuron Disease Association (MNDA).

MND has touched the lives of several families within the Wallers team, so we chose MNDA as our charity of the year for 2025.

Preparations began back in January, when we started searching for the perfect venue, gathering raffle prizes, and writing ten rounds of quiz questions. The MNDA fundraising team provided fantastic support throughout, keeping in regular contact and supplying banners, balloons, wristbands, and t-shirts for Steve Waller and me to wear as the evening’s hosts.

The Quiz Night

When the big night arrived, anticipation filled the air. We decorated the hall, set up the tables, tested the microphone—and were ready to go! Ten teams of six to eight people joined us, bringing along cheese boards, sausage rolls, crisps, chocolate, and their chosen tipples. The evening opened with a picture round featuring cartoon dogs, and the winners took home a box of chocolates to enjoy for the rest of the quiz.

By the interval, one team had taken an early lead, but with several jokers still in play, it was anyone’s game. The excitement continued to build, especially when “Ant and Dec” made a surprise guest appearance during the Limitless round!

By 10:30pm, the quiz had wrapped up and the final scores were in. Just one point separated the top three teams, and the winners proudly walked away with a boxed Waller Pen and Pocket Torch.

The Raffle

The raffle proved to be another highlight of the night. The prize table overflowed with generous donations, including a £100 Osteopathy Voucher from Oast Osteopathy, a £30 voucher from Doughty’s Butcher in Doddington, a £70 Fit Yard Voucher from The Fit Yard, Sittingbourne for five free sessions, hampers, and more. Tickets sold quickly, and our lucky winners were thrilled with their prizes.

Jo from Accounts, who won the Fit Yard five-session voucher, was especially delighted!

By the end of the evening, after counting both on-the-night and online donations, we were proud to announce a total of £1,602.00 raised for the Motor Neuron Disease Association.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated prizes, and supported such a meaningful cause. Your generosity helped make our first quiz night a wonderful success!
