Primary School Extension

We recently completed this primary school extension at Newington Primary School near Sittingbourne, helping the school create a dedicated space for its after-school club.

The school wanted to make better use of its existing facilities and provide pupils with a comfortable, practical and safe space to use after the school day. To bring this vision to life, the school appointed an architect to develop the design before inviting contractors to tender for the project. Following the tender process, we were delighted to be appointed as the successful contractor.

Connecting the New with the Existing

The extension adjoins one of the school’s existing buildings, allowing us to create a natural connection between the new and existing spaces. As part of the works, we carefully knocked through the existing building to form a new opening, effectively linking the two areas and creating a more practical layout for the school.

The design followed a simple, clean approach, focusing on functionality while making the most of the available space. As a result, the new extension provides a versatile environment that the school can use to support its after-school activities.

Bringing in Natural Light

To complete the space, our in-house glazing division installed two new double glazed windows and an access door. These additions introduce plenty of natural light into the extension while also creating a welcoming entrance for pupils and staff.

Throughout the project, we worked to deliver the architect’s design while ensuring the new extension integrated seamlessly with the existing school building. From the initial construction work and opening through to the glazing installation, our team managed the project with a focus on quality, practicality and attention to detail.

The finished extension now gives Newington Primary School a bright, functional new space for its after-school club, whilst making better use of the school’s existing facilities.
