Saint George’s School Window Installation
Project Overview
We were commissioned to replace the windows in the school’s maths block as part of a wider programme to update and modernise all windows across the site. The existing single-glazed, metal-framed Crittall windows were no longer fit for purpose, as they allowed cold air to enter the building, resulting in poor energy efficiency and an uncomfortable learning environment.
New Aluminium Windows and Doors
To address these issues, we replaced the original windows and doors with high-quality aluminium, double-glazed units. The frames were finished in a textured anthracite grey, offering both a sleek, modern aesthetic and exceptional durability—qualities that are essential in a high-traffic educational environment.
Furthermore, the school requested that the new installations match the appearance of previously upgraded areas on site. This included maintaining consistency in frame colour, design, and detailing. In addition, red-coloured infill panels were incorporated to reflect the school’s identity and complement other areas of the building finished in the same tones. Consequently, the new windows not only perform better but also enhance the school’s overall visual continuity.
Key Improvements
The installation of the new windows and doors has resulted in several important benefits:
-
Increased durability for long-term performance
-
Improved energy efficiency, reducing heat loss and energy consumption
-
Enhanced security, offering greater protection for staff and students
-
A refreshed and contemporary appearance that elevates the building’s look
Meeting a Tight Schedule
The school set a particularly challenging deadline, commissioning us to supply and install all new windows and doors within just four weeks before students returned. Despite the tight timeframe, we worked closely with the school’s management team to coordinate every stage of the project.
Through careful planning, effective communication, and close collaboration with suppliers, we were able to meet all milestones efficiently. As a result, the installation was completed ahead of schedule, allowing the school to reopen on time with a fully upgraded facility.
The Result
Ultimately, the project has transformed the maths block at Saint George’s School. The building is now warmer, more energy-efficient, and visually cohesive with the rest of the campus. Moreover, the upgrade forms a key part of the school’s broader modernisation programme, ensuring that both students and staff benefit from a more comfortable and secure learning environment for years to come.
