School Rubber Crumb Football Pitch Installation

This was an interesting project carried out at a school in Medway. The school had an unused area of their field that needed to be utilised. They wanted to have a new rubber crumb football pitch installed to create an extra area for exercise and recreational activity.

Preparation

The identified area was on a slope which needed to be levelled out. This was achieved with large plant machinery. The next stage was to build a retaining wall around the edge of where the new pitch would be located. When this was in place, a concrete base was laid with a tight rubber surface installed on top. This would be the top playing surface and football pitch lines were added.
