Waller Building Services was commissioned to carry out this project. This was to design and convert existing commercial premises into 9 self-contained luxury apartments. The apartments included five one bedroom, two 2 bedrooms flats. Additionally two new build 2 bedroom penthouses were built on the existing roof. A Grade 1 listed church was opposite the building and in a conservation area. Therefore a sympathetic approach had to be taken with the apartments having a contemporary and modern feel. The two new builds on the roof needed to obtain Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 to meet planning conditions. All of the apartments also required a high level of sound insulation between them. Additionally fire rating to protect the escape route was paramount.
