London Primary School New Windows

Our latest project, London Primary School new windows, was carried out during term time whilst staff and students were on site. All of our workmen hold up to date enhanced DBS certificates and worked in an area of the school that was fenced off.

Enhancing Energy Efficiency at a South West London School with New uPVC Double-Glazed Windows

We were recently approached by a consultant working on behalf of a school in South West London. Their objective was clear: to improve the energy efficiency and appearance of part of the school that still had outdated single-glazed Crittall and wooden-framed windows.

Identifying the Problem

The existing windows, which had been in place for many years, were no longer fit for purpose. They lacked modern insulation properties and allowed significant heat loss during colder months. Additionally, their condition had visibly deteriorated, leading to concerns over both energy bills and aesthetics.

Our Role in the Project

Following a competitive tendering process, we were delighted to be appointed as the successful glazing contractor. The project involved replacing a total of seven windowsthree at high level and four on the ground floor.

To ensure the work was carried out safely and efficiently, we used scaffold towers to access and install the new high-level windows. This allowed our team to work with precision while maintaining site safety standards throughout.

The Solution: New uPVC Double-Glazed Windows

On the ground floor, we installed 50/50 top-opening sash uPVC windows, each with a lower dummy sash to maintain a balanced appearance. For added style and to match existing aesthetics, each unit also featured Georgian bars set between the panes of glass.

These new double-glazed windows offer a range of benefits:

  • Improved thermal efficiency, reducing energy consumption and heating costs.
  • Enhanced noise insulation, creating a more comfortable learning environment.
  • Low maintenance, ensuring the windows stay looking fresh for years to come.
  • Modern design that still complements the original architecture of the school.

A Noticeable Transformation

The installation of the new windows has significantly improved the appearance of this area of the building. Not only do they blend seamlessly with other recently installed windows, but they also bring a fresh and professional look to the school’s exterior.

Why uPVC Double Glazing is Ideal for Schools

This project demonstrates how upgrading to uPVC double-glazed windows can make a real difference in educational settings. From reducing heat loss to enhancing safety and durability, modern window systems offer excellent value for money and long-term performance.
