Historic School’s Replacement Windows

As part of a larger works programme undertaken by Waller Associates, this historic school’s replacement windows project was carried out on a school building built in the 1840’s.

Aluminium Framed Windows

Aluminium framed double glazed windows and doors were fitted throughout the school. The glass is safety glass which is also very energy efficient. This ensures that the school has improved safety, security, looks great and helps to lower heating costs. The aluminium windows replaced wooden single glazed windows that had seen better days. To make sure that the building didn’t lose its original character, we installed Georgian bar style windows, that would look very similar to the original window design. New coloured metallic infill panels were installed in addition to the windows. The blue insulated panels match the school colours.

New Entrance and Reception

As well as the existing windows being replaced, a new entrance and reception was built. This included new aluminium double doors and side panels.

Working with Waller Building Services

Waller Building and Glazling departments worked hand in hand on this project and as a result the project progressed smoothly. In some areas of the school, new suspended ceilings were installed to provide a modern feel. On the outside we fitted blue infill panels in the place of glass which meant that the edge of the suspended ceiling couldn’t be seen from the outside. The majority of the works were untaken during term time. It was essential that we worked together with the school to ensure that there was as little as possible disruption to the school’s normal working day. This was a fantastic project to be a part of and the final results are amazing
