The Bobbing Book Bashers

Shortly after I joined the team at Waller Building and Glazing, The Bobbing Book Bashers book club was formed. Each member of TBBB would put forward a book of our choice and then we would put it to the vote on which one we would read. Before I joined the book club I had only ever read a couple of novels. We are now on our 5th book! Some being better than others.

The Benefits of Reading

I’ve found reading to be really enjoyable, relaxing and it helps with sleeping. It has also generated a great deal of discussions between us all. We have recently added a new member making TBBB a group of 7. To make if fair, from September we onwards we have decided that each member will choose a book in turn which means that everyone gets to have a book choice.

The Books so Far

After each book we like to mark them out of 10 and get an average score. So far we have read the following and I have added my views;

The Family Upstairs – Lisa Jewel (8) – Loved this book, thrilling with lots of twists and turns.

Cilka’s Journey – Heather Morris (5.5) – Interesting but rather hard going.

The Girls That Disappeared – Claire Douglas (7.25) – A good read with lots of plot twists revealed at the end.

And Then There Were None – Agatha Christie (7.4) – The scene is set, a good storyline, murder galore with lots of twists.

The Thursday Murder Club – Richard Osman (9.5) – Really good, very funny, intriguing and unexpected plot twists.

The Theatre

After reading the Agatha Christie classic, And Then There Were None, we have decided to watch the stage show at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. It was a good read and we are really looking forward to it.

So go and read a book! Like me, it’s better than watching another episode of Love Island on the tele.
