Since our formation in 1993, we have developed a core client base consisting of housing associations, local authorities and large corporations to whom we have provided a variety of construction services. Having established excellent working relationships with these clients, we have been able to grow into a successful medium sized company with an annual turnover between £1,000,000 and £2,000,000.
We are registered with Constructionline, a government lead database, which enables all prospective clients to find out more information about us and to see if we are suitable for their construction needs.
Our field of operations is throughout Kent, parts of East Sussex and South-East London and, being based in Sittingbourne, the company is suitably located to supervise contracts within this area.
The range of contracts we carry out varies from disabled alterations to domestic properties right through to new build projects and housing developments. Examples of such work can be found on our projects page.
As we have expanded into the new-build sector of the industry we have become affiliated with the NHBC (National House-Building Council) who provide assistance with the new-build projects we undertake as well as a ten-year guarantee for the properties.
We have a varied workforce consisting of tradesmen, labourers, trainees and management staff who have the necessary skills and experience required to carry out our contracts to a high standard. In order to maintain and improve the skills of our employees, we achieved the status of ‘Investor in People’ (IIP) in 2001. By doing so, we have been able to organise ourselves in such a way that the training and development of our staff is one of our foremost priorities.
By dovetailing IIP with our Quality Assurance EN ISO 9001:2000 Policy, we have been able to implement policies and procedures which give us the tools to ensure that our quality of work is monitored and controlled via our system of pre-handover snagging proformas and practical completion certificates. This system also enables us to identify areas of the workforce that may need further training and development and also assists us with one of our main objectives which is to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
An essential part of our IIP/ISO scheme is the Business Development Plan. This documents our aims and objectives both in the present and near future and is updated every six months. It is then distributed to all employees and gives them the chance to see where both they and the company would like to be.
We are also registered with the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) who provide us with grant funding for any training and development needs we may have including areas such as first aid and health and safety.
Working in the construction industry means that health and safety is of paramount importance. We have a well documented and detailed health and safety policy at our office which is accessible to all of our employees. The policy was formulated with the assistance of Kita Ltd (kitaltd.co.uk), a local health and safety specialist, and covers both our site based activities and our premises health and safety issues including the safe storage of materials and the like.
The company is dedicated to maintaining equal opportunities for all and this upheld by our Equal Opportunities Policy which is on display at our head office. This policy highlights how we appreciate how diverse the modern workplace and the people who work within it have become. By implementing the policy, we ensure that we have the possibility to employ anyone who will be of benefit to the company from whatever background they may come.
The environment, and the effects the construction industry has on it, is one of the major issues to concern the modern construction industry. This is reflected in our Environmental Policy which demonstrates the company’s commitment in establishing a ‘sustainable community’. The policy also outlines the procedures we have in place that enable us to reduce the potential harm our work may have on the surrounding area as well as the environment as a whole.
Having reached where we are today, we believe that we are a vibrant, flexible company that is able to adapt to suit a variety of needs from our clients and still fulfill their expectations of us in terms of the time it takes to carry out the work, the quality of it and their value for money.
